As a Teacher’s Assistant to Professor Frank Melendez, I was tasked to introduce 3D scanning technologies to the visual studies students. I decided to create abnormal forms using melted wax in which I could harden using tubs of cold water. These forms would be able to show the students how photogrammetry and LIDAR scanning technologies use point cloud models to create 3D mesh frames using a structure sensor.
